Berlin, Deutschland, 13. Februar 2025 – Daten zur erstmaligen Anwendung einer Radioligandentherapie bei muskelinvasivem Blasenkrebs (MIBC) mit dem Wirkstoff Lu177-PentixaTher von Pentixapharm werden auf dem Genitourinary Cancers Symposium der American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO-GU 2025) in San Francisco, Kalifornien, vorgestellt. Die Präsentation beschreibt eine Fallstudie eines Patienten mit fortgeschrittenem MIBC, der zunächst mit drei Zyklen einer neoadjuvanten Kombinationstherapie behandelt wurde. Anschließend erfolgte eine intravesikale Applikation des CXCR4-rezeptorgerichteten Radiopharmazeutikums von Pentixapharm. Eine vorherige Bildgebung mittels Ga68-PentixaFor PET/CT wies die Expression des CXCR4 Rezeptors nach, woraufhin eine gezielte Instillation von Lu177-PentixaTher zur Eliminierung verbliebener Tumorzellen durchgeführt wurde. Die pathologische Untersuchung nach einer transurethralen Resektion zeigte eine vollständige Remission, was das Potenzial einer blasenprotektiven Therapie unterstreicht. Die Instillationstherapie bei Blasenkrebs ermöglicht eine lokalisierte Behandlung mit höherer Präzision und reduzierter systemischer Belastung, wodurch das Risiko unerwünschter Nebenwirkungen minimiert wird. Diese ersten Daten erweitern die wachsende Evidenzbasis für CXCR4 als therapeutisches Zielmolekül in verschiedenen onkologischen Indikationen. Bislang wurden mehr als 100 Patienten mit PentixaTher behandelt, was die Grundlage für ein von Pentixapharm initiiertes klinisches Entwicklungsprogramm bildet. Im November vergangenen Jahres wurde der erste Patient in eine vom Prüfarzt initiierte Phase-I/II-Studie zur Behandlung von akuter myeloischer und lymphoblastischer Leukämie (AML/ALL) in Nantes, Frankreich, aufgenommen.
